At Soulliere Financial Group, we respect your privacy

Privacy legislation has been in effect since January 01 2001, but here at Soulliere Financial Group we have always safeguarded the sensitive personal information of our clients. Protecting your personal information and respecting your privacy is important to us. As a provider of financial products and services, the collection and use of personal information is fundamental to our business. Equally important is your trust in our handling of your personal information.

All employees, associated advisors and suppliers who are granted access to client records understand the need to keep this information protected and confidential. They know they are to use the information only for the purposes intended. This expectation is clearly communicated. We’ve also established physical and system safeguards along with proper processes, to protect client information from unauthorized access or use.

Privacy Principles

Soulliere Financial Group abides by principles that are based on the federal government's privacy legislation, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.

1. Accountability: We are responsible for personal information under our control.

2. Identifying purposes: The purpose for which personal information is collected, will be identified by us at the time of collection.

3. Consent: Your consent is required for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information, subject to certain exceptions. Such exceptions are set out in the law and include where legal or security reasons make it impossible or impractical to seek consent. Your consent may be expressed in writing. It may also be given verbally or electronically. In certain circumstances, it may also be implied.

4. Limiting Collection: The collection of personal information is limited to that which is necessary.

5. Limiting use, disclosure & retention: Our personal information may only be used or disclosed for the purposes for which it was collected, other purposes you consent to, or as required or permitted by law. Personal Information is retained only as long as necessary.

6. Accuracy: Any personal information that is collected, used or disclosed should be as accurate, complete and as up-to-date as is necessary for the purpose for which it is to be used.

7. Safeguards: Personal information shall be protected by security safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

8. Openness: Information about our privacy policies and practices for managing your personal information shall be made available to you.

9. Individual Access: Upon request, you shall be informed of the existence, use and disclosure of your personal information and shall be given access to that information.

10. Inquiries and concerns: You may contact us if you have any inquiries or concerns about our privacy policies and practices.

What We Collect & How We Use It

When you do business with us, we collect personal information that will aide us in helping find the best choices for you. This personal information may include but is not limited to:

a) Any income tax information;
b) Account statements from other firms, including banks, trust companies or fund companies;
c) Pension plan information;
d) Legal documents including wills, trusts and powers of attorney; and
e) Copies of identification including photo identification and banking information.

This information may be used to:

- Communicate with you in a timely and efficient manner;
- Assess your application for investment, insurance and other services available;
- Assess your financial situation and contact you with any other suitable products;
- Evaluate claims and underwriting risks when required;
- Analyze business results; and
- Act as required or authorized by law.

What We Will NOT DO With Your Information

Soulliere Financial Group agrees to not sell your client information to anyone. Nor share your client information with organizations outside of our relationship that would use it to contact you about their own products and services. Your personal information may be disclosed to companies as necessary to execute instructions you provide to your advisor.

Your Privacy Choices

You may withdraw your consent at any time (subject to legal or contractual obligations and on providing us reasonable notice) by contacting our Privacy Officer. Please be aware that withdrawing your consent may prevent us from providing you with requested products or services. We may occasionally use your personal information to advise you of products or services we believe may be of interest to you or fit your personal circumstances. If you would rather not receive this type of communication, please advise our Privacy Officer.
